This page is simple, because the Trash Gnome is simple.

What is the Trash Gnome?
It manages the contents of your Trash Can on Mac OS X systems.
The Trash Gnome's handy-work...
Specifically: It keeps your trash organized by placing things you throw out into dated folders. This enables you to look through your trash and actually find things when you want to retrieve them. Eventually, the Trash Gnome permanently deletes things from your trash. Your trash becomes useful, and you never have to empty your trash again. If you have something you want deleted immediately, you can place it in the "Delete Immediately" folder inside your Trash and run the Gnome.
